Obtaining Membership

Membership of the LEARN Association is open only to institutions or organizations that are legal entities. Individuals are not eligible to become members of LEARN.

Membership Categories

At present, there are three categories of LEARN membership.

  • Full Membership

    Subject to the condition of maintaining at least one direct and dedicated connection to the LEARN Network, any Higher Education Institution established under the Universities act No 16 of 1978, including the University Grants Commission, which agrees with the objectives of the LEARN Association can apply for the Full Membership of the Association.

  • Associate Membership

    Any Institute for Higher Learning established under the Universities act No 16 of 1978, or a Research and Development Institute coming under a government ministry, who agrees with the objectives of the LEARN Association can apply for Associate Membership. The Board of Directors, subject to an annual membership fee, will confer membership only after the approval of the application.

  • Affiliate Membership

    Any other Research or Educational Institute or Organisation who agrees with the objectives of the LEARN Association can apply for the Affiliate Membership of the Association. The Board of Directors subject to an annual membership fee, will confer membership only after the approval of the application.

The Board of Directors will confer membership only after the approval of the application. Any decision taken by the Board of Directors with regard to the conferring or non-conferring of the membership to an institution or organization is final and conclusive.

All members of LEARN pay a flat annual membership fee depending on their membership category.
